    DeepFind

    Find the passage, not just the file.

    Search inside PDFs, Word files, spreadsheets, Markdown and HTML. Results cite the page, row or cell that matched and explain why. Search by meaning, OCR and media transcripts come later.

    Living Collections

    One file, many projects.

    Group files from different drives into virtual projects. Adding a file stores a reference. Nothing is copied or moved.

Control

Keep the files. Lose the friction.

Originals stay at source. Arkavia reads them. It does not copy them into its own storage.

You choose every folder. Whole disks, your home folder and system folders are refused. Hidden files and links are skipped.

Content is read on your machine. For local and external folders, extraction runs where Arkavia runs. You can choose metadata only per source.

Revoking erases the index. Names, fingerprints, extracted text and project links for that source are deleted. The audit log records it.

Derived data is still data. Extracted text and fingerprints describe your files. Retention, export and account deletion controls are being built before any public release.

Questions

Is Arkavia a cloud drive?

No. Arkavia does not host your files and has no storage plans to sell. It indexes the places you already use and opens originals where they live.

Do my files get uploaded?

In the current alpha, local and external folders are read on the machine running Arkavia and the index is stored on that machine. Google Drive files are downloaded temporarily for text extraction and deleted after parsing. The index keeps names, paths, fingerprints and extracted text so you can search. The older Drive video catalogue in the same alpha stores generated previews in Cloudflare R2; that design is being evaluated again.

Does it use AI models on my files?

Not yet. Search is keyword ranking with evidence, and categories come from transparent rules that abstain when unsure. Any future model use will be your choice per source, and we will say where it runs.

What happens when my external drive is unplugged?

If you allowed it, its files stay searchable from cached metadata and are clearly marked offline. Arkavia will not pretend it can open them until the same drive is reconnected.

Can it rename or move my files?

It does not rename or move files. It can move an extra duplicate copy to your Drive trash after you confirm. Proposed changes with a preview, your approval and undo where the source supports it are on the roadmap.

Can I sign up?

Not yet. Arkavia is in private development with invited testers. Pricing has not been set.
